Best of Bakersfield Mar 10, 2026 // Nostalgia FC Updates // editorFor the 68th time in history — NHRA’s pinnacle annual event for Nostalgia drag racing went into the books at the Famoso Drag Strip – Bakersfield California.
Nitro Nostalgia Funny Car class racing once claimed top billing for the Good Vibrations Motorsports “March Meet” and that final round featured a USA versus Canada conclusion.
It was Pacific Northwest based Mike Peck – earning his first March Meet title — when he bested Canadian Nathan Sitko in the championship round.
Peck’s “Instigator” ’70 Camaro clocked a winning 5.581 secs at 261.70 mph compared to Sitko’s 5.620 secs 260.19 mph run in the Edmonton-based Hodgson Racing Firebird.
Peck (from Washington state) qualified #5 and defeated Derrick Moreira, Drew Austin and Bobby Cottrell in earlier rounds.
Sitko, who finished a close 2nd in NHRA Hot Rod Heritage series final points last year, defeated Cory Lee, Jon Capps and Shane Westerfield to advance to the final round.
Todd Plate (from Alabama) was the quickest NFC overall when he qualified #1 at 5.485 secs – which held up for low ET of the race. Plate was however upset in round #1 by Geoff Monise.
