				Bakersfield Claim Continues Jun 03, 2021 // Nostalgia FC Updates // editorNitro Nostalgia Funny Car racer Bobby Cottrell extended his winning ways during last weekend’s 63rd Annual Good Vibrations Motorsports “March Meet” – held at Famoso Drag Strip near Bakersfield CA. Cottrell, who is based from Whitter CA., scored his 4th career event win since 2018 at that track (2 March Meet/2 CHRR titles) when he bested Michael Peck in the final round for this Lucas Oil presented race. Bobby Cottrell drove the Austin & O’Brien Bardahl-sponsored Chevy Camaro to a final round 5.728 secs at 248.71 mph to defeat Peck, a first time finalist, who ran 5.997 secs 245.90 mph. Cottrell had qualified #2 (with a 5.650 secs) before winning over Matt Melendey, Kamaka Pocock and Kris Krabill in earlier competition. A total of 21 Funny Cars made qualifying attempts at this year’s March Meet event, with 15/16 of those cars running in the 5-secs zone. Dan Horan (photo below) was credited with low ET of the event when he recorded a 5.630 secs laps while qualifying #1.
