Former IHRA champion Del Worsham finished off his dominant season for IHRA Funny Car racing by winning the final IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series event last weekend — which was held at Darana Motorsports Park Dunn, NC (formally known as Galot Motorsports Park).
  
Worsham made it to the final round in all five IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series races this season – to claim the overall season points title.

Racing his Toyota Supra, Del beat John Smith in the quarterfinals, Jacob McNeal in the semifinals and topped Bobby Bode in the final. Bode lost traction which handed the win to the Worsham, whose winning numbers were 3.319 seconds and 265.27 mph.

Worsham won the event from the #7 qualified position for the 8-car field – 1/8th mile format race. A total of 12 nitro FCs were assembled for the season finale race.

Dale Creasy was the #1 qualifier (3.212 secs 277.54 mph) – but he lost out in round #1.
