Solid Qualifier at Sonoma

Todd Lesenko had his quickest and fastest lap of the 2013 season during NHRA’s Sonoma Nationals held in California.   Driving the Fountain Tire “Canadiana Fan Tribute” Dodge Charger Todd and the rest of the Worsham Racing team coaxed a best run of 4.165 secs at 304.87 mph during Friday’s 2nd qualifying session which put them solidly into the program for  final eliminations.

On Sunday versus Jack Beckman in round #1 — the car did move violently off the start and Todd certainly had his hands full while re collecting the car.  But a centre-line violation disqualified Todd’s effort and that was ultimately no match for Beckman’s winning time of 4.057 secs in the other lane.

The team offers it’s congratulations to Somona FC winner Ron Capps who earned his 4th victory of the 2013 season and the 40th of his career driving the DSR Napa-sponsored Dodge Charger.

Todd and the team will now move up the coast to scenic Pacific Raceway near Seattle for next weekend’s highly anticipated NHRA Northwest Nationals…..(BB)
