Todd to Headline at Canadian Nitro Nationals!

Todd Lesenko will be headlining an impressive line-up of nitro cars for this summer’s Canadian Nitro Nationals which will be held at Cayuga Dragway Toronto Motorsports Park.

The 4th annual Canadian Nitro Nationals (July 12-14th) will feature a number of nitro-burning machines from both within the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series (Funny Cars and Top Fuel) as well as independent circuits.

Todd’s first ever scheduled racing appearance in Eastern Canada will also have a very special dimension.

In conjunction with Worsham Racing the team will in fact field two Funny Cars for the event.   Todd will drive his over the top Canadian fan favourite Fountain Tire “Canadiana” Dodge Charger while non other then 2011 NHRA Full Throttle Top Fuel World Champion Del Worsham will race a second car.   That special appearance will have Del behind the wheel of another Dodge Charger — this one decked out in an “Americana” theme specially conceived for this event and thus creating a true Can-Am Funny Car challenge for the fans.

Iowa’s Jack Wyatt and Illinois-based Dale Creasy will also be entered in the Nitro FC competition at the event.

“I’m very exited about my first opportunity to run our Canadiana car within Canada,’ said Lesenko.  “I’ve also never been able to race in Eastern Canada before and I’ve heard nothing but good things about Toronto Motorsports Park and the fan response for the Canadian Nitro Nationals.   We are very focused on putting on a great show and running fast.”

The Canadian Nitro Nationals event is widely regarded as the single most prestigious independent feature race in all of Canada.   The event also features ferocious competition in PMRA Pro Modified, Q32 Top Dragster/Sportsman, and Can-Am Stock/Super Stock eliminators. Exhibition Jet cars and NDRA eliminators in both Alcohol Funny Car and Fast Doorslammer will also be part of the weekend’s aggressive racing program.
