Dallas = 3rd Straight Qualifier Sep 24, 2012 // NHRA Event FC Results // editorDallas = 3rd Straight Qualifier
Todd Lesenko drove the Jim Dunn Racing Dodge Stratus Funny Car to it’s 3rd consecutive event qualified position during last weekends’ NHRA AAA Texas Fall Nationals. It was Todd’s first driving experience at the fabled track which was built and is owned and operated by fabled FC racer Billy Meyer.
Racing for the 2nd time with new sponsor Eco-Absorb as it’s primary, Todd secured the 16th and final qualified position following a run of 4.385 secs at 277.49 mph on Saturday. That earned him the right to face off against the pole qualifier – budding female superstar Courtney Force, driver of the Traxxas-sponsored Ford Mustang.
Knowing he had to cut a great light in order to have a chance of upsetting Courtney, Todd squeezed the starting line Christmas tree a bit too tight and left too early. That red-light foul advanced Courtney to the next round of competition.
The team will not get any break from the current gruelling racing schedule. It packed up immediately to head north to St. Louis for next weekend’s NHRA AAA Insurance Midwest Nationals; the 5th of 6 weekends in a row of NHRA national event racing……(BB)
