It’s “Back to the Future” for Boychuk Jun 12, 2015 // Nostalgia FC Updates // editorFor über popular Canadian Nostalgia Funny Car racer Tim Boychuk there will be some reverting back to his roots with a new but nostalgic look for the IHRA’s Nitro Jam Funny Car racing series – beginning next weekend.
The Edmonton-based driver has re-skined his Pontiac Firebird back to the look from his earlier racing days including the re-introduction of the name “Happy Hour” for his potent car. Tim’s first ever Funny Cars, a Chevy Vega and then a Ford Mustang back in mid 2000’s carried that motif.
Tim, who sits a solid 3rd in IHRA World Championship points going into next weekend’s race at Maryland International Raceway will soon turn his attention back to his homeland too. Coming soon for his Canadian fan contingent are scheduled appearances at Ontario’s Grand Bend Motorplex (June 26-28th) and then soon after at his hometown Castrol Raceway in Edmonton (July 17-19th).
