2nd Generation Densham Wins Bakersfield Mar 10, 2015 // Nostalgia FC Updates // editorSteven Densham – who is son to legendary NHRA Funny Car drag racer Gary Densham — was the big winner in the Nitro Nostalgia Funny Car class during the infamous annual “March Meet”……
Driving his “Teacher’s Pet” Chevy Camaro-bodied car, Densham earned the victory in the Good Vibrations-sponsored category, defeating a very large field of cars during the event held at Auto Club Famosa Raceway north of Bakersfield.
In the final round the Oceanside, CA based driver defeated the Dodge-bodied car raced by James Day – the 2014 March Meet event champion.
Densham saved his best for the final round — running low ET of the entire event in that match with his 5.694 secs at 249.16 mph besting Day’s 5.874 secs at 242.41 mph.
The event which saw no less then 31 cars make qualifying attempts for the elite 16-car field was paced by Dan Horan who’s Ford Mustang clocked in at 5.715 secs at 257.24 mph (top speed).
