Todd Lesenko’s first ever visit racing in America’s Heartland at Topeka Kansas had some positives. He and the Jim Dunn Racing team did end a recent streak of non-qualifying efforts and made the Summer Nationals FC program with a 4.362 secs and a best speed of 284.27 mph.

In round one they raced Cruz Pedregon’s Snap-On Tools Toyota — Cruz was the event’s pole qualifier at 4.046 secs.

The door of opportunity was certainly open in round one as both cars experienced issues. Todd’s car smoked the tires about 200 feet out and he peddled the car X2 but ultimately could not run down Pedregon. Cruz’s run was trouble plagued too but he did cross the finish line first.

That match was the first time in history that the those two drivers have faced one another in competition…..(BB)
