Todd Lesenko and the Jim Dunn Racing team attempted to “tap into” the Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals Funny Car field at fabulous Atlanta Dragway last weekend.

Unfortunately the team was unable to qualify for the 7th event stop on the 2012 NHRA Full Throttle season calander — despite a very determined effort.

Due to a combination of factors Todd had to abort all of his qualifying attempts which featured vastly different and fast changing atmospheric and track conditions. The team’s best effort came in qualifying round #4 on Saturday afteroon at 4.701 secs — but that fell short of the 16-car bump spot when the car nosed over late in the run.

The event was won ultimately by Ron Capps and the team offers it’s congratuations to Ron and the entire Napa Auto Parts racing team. Capps’ victory did end that amazing 6-straight NHRA event winning streak for John Force Racing………(BB)
