First Gatornationals Experience Begins Mar 27, 2012 // Todd Lesenko Racing News // adminFirst Gatornationals Experience Begins
Todd Lesenko is getting in the spirit to compete in his third NHRA National event, the Gatornationals, with a trip to Disneyworld. The Canadian native is gearing up for his first Gatornationals with a celebratory trip to Disneyworld. Joining long time friends and customers at the Orlando, Florida theme park was a priority for Todd and his wife Liz.
Todd explained, “Life is about experiences and people. Although racing a 300+ mile per hour nitro Funny Car is incredibly serious business we enjoy taking every moment we can to connect with our friends, sponsors, customers and fans. What better way to kick off an NHRA nitro weekend than visiting one of the happiest places on earth?”
Currently sitting 7th in points, 97 points behind the leader Mike Neff and one place behind fellow rookie Courtney Force, Lesenko is in a prime position to potentially win Rookie of the Year honors. Although too early in the season to make any serious predictions you can count on Lesenko and the Jim Dunn Racing team to stay up front as they continue to improve upon their past performances which included a qualifying position of 16th in Pomona, CA and 13th at the Arizona Nationals.
Lesenko added, “At the first two events we faced past champions in the first round and advanced to the second round each time. I am aware this track has its challenges, but I am ready to take them head on. We have an amazing and talented crew as well as an exceptionally prepared Funny Car.”
