{"id":7841,"date":"2026-09-10T23:14:59","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T23:14:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=7841"},"modified":"2026-09-10T23:21:46","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T23:21:46","slug":"an-epic-weekend-for-fast-jack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=7841","title":{"rendered":"An Epic Weekend for Fast Jack!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Funny Car\u2019s Jack Beckman finished off a spectacular two days, following Sunday\u2019s victory in the PlayNHRA Funny Car All-Star Callout with a Monday victory at The Big Go, taking down regular season world champion Matt Hagan in the championship round with a standout run of 3.965 at 327.35 in his 12,000-horsepower PEAK Chevrolet SS for John Force Racing.<br>&nbsp;<br>Beckman was dominant on Monday, posting the best run of each session and reaching the finals by defeating Jeff Arend, teammate Alexis DeJoria and Austin Prock, who was looking to become the first driver in Funny Car history to win the U.S. Nationals three straight years.<br>&nbsp;<br>But Beckman, sporting an epic John Force throwback look from his incredible 1996 championship season, couldn\u2019t be denied the past two days, going 3.962 at 327.35 in the semifinals en route to getting his second victory of the 2026 campaign and the 39th of his career.<br>&nbsp;<br>It\u2019s also his third victory at the U.S. Nationals and following his double-up on Sunday and Monday, it will be a weekend Beckman, who moved to third in points, won\u2019t soon forget.<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cI could truthfully tell you this is the greatest weekend I&#8217;ve ever had holding the steering wheel,\u201d Beckman said. \u201cThis was just a phenomenal weekend. This one might be more significant because we did it in John Force\u2019s tribute car. We went out there and we dominated every session. In the final round, it was 127 degrees. I rolled in shallow so the car would have run a 3.96. That&#8217;s an exclamation point. Nobody gave us anything this weekend. We went out, and we earned every single win, and it&#8217;s the same trophy, but we know how much we kicked butt today.\u201d<br>&nbsp;<br>Hagan reached the final round for the fourth time this season by defeating Hunter Green, Paul Lee and Ron Capps. The semifinal round against Capps was pivotal, as it handed Hagan the regular season championship and the $150,000 prize, as well as the points lead heading into the Countdown to the Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/DSC_8032-e1789081407726.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/DSC_8032-e1789081390217-1024x606.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7832\" width=\"545\"\/><\/a><figcaption><strong>Matt Hagan<\/strong> was FC runner-up for the US Nationals title &amp; the All-Star Callout event.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Sunday&#8217;s win for Beckman within the very lucrative PLAYNHRA Funny Car All-Star Callout race saw him defeat<br>Matt Hagan in the final round by 3.980 secs 323.19 mph to 4.290 secs 227.19 mph count.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beckman had defeated Chad Green and JR Todd in the first two rounds for that elite annual 8-car competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday&#8217;s event schedule at Indy did include the final Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge events for this season and that produced a victory for back-to-back NHRA Funny Car world champion Austin Prock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/DSC_6595-e1789081232235.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/DSC_6595-1024x819.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7838\" width=\"545\"\/><\/a><figcaption><strong><em>Austin Prock<\/em><\/strong> collected the top honours for the 2026 Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge race series.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Prock, who has won the U.S. Nationals the past two years, went 3.921-seconds at 317.87 in his Ford Racing Mustang to power past JR Todd\u2019s 4.006 at 325.06 mph in the race conclusion matchup. That gave Prock his 3rd win of the season and also the Mission #2Fast2Tasty title for 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prock had defeated Matt Hagan in round one and JR Todd had beaten Jordan Vandergriff &#8211;
