Lesenko Announces Season Sabbatical<\/h2>\n

Todd Lesenko has announced that he will step away from the sport of drag racing temporarily\u2026.<\/em>\"\"<\/p>\n

After competing last year on a part time basis within NHRA’s Mello Yello Series fuel Funny Car class, the popular racer will not be in competition during 2014. \u00a0He \u00a0will instead focus on his growing Fountain Tire business ventures while at the same time charting a plan for his return possibly as soon as 2015.<\/p>\n

“Liz and I have decided to take a year long absence from drag racing,” Lesenko revealed. “Our focus will be training people to take over operations at our company and acquiring new staff to move forward. \u00a0This year will be a year of work – and no play.”<\/p>\n

“I’ve had several offers to drive some competitive funny cars,” he added. \u00a0“And \u00a0I want to drive a car that is capable of winning a national event. \u00a0Driving on a part time basis just doesn’t work for me —\u00a0but I will definitely be active on the sponsorship negotiaton front and developing \u00a0my next opportunity to drive.”<\/p>\n
