The next generation edition IHRA opened for season business last weekend with its new Outlaw Nitro Series debuting at Darana Raceway in Benson NC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nitro FC class did draw 10 entries and when competition was concluded it was a veteran IHRA racer – Dale Creasy – who claimed victory lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dale Creasy<\/strong> won at IHRA’s 2026 season opener event.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Creasy, driving his Tec Pak-presented Dodge Charger, singled for the win when his scheduled opponent Terry Haddock (from Texas) was unable to make the final round due to mechanical issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creasy (from Illinois) had defeated Jacob McNeal and Del Worsham in the first two rounds for the 8-car 1\/8th mile qualified eliminator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Terry Haddock<\/strong> placed R\/UP with his Texas-based Ford Mustang.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Del Worsham (from California) was credited with both the quickest and fastest math of the event — hitting a 3.202 secs and 282.13 mph to pace the field after qualifying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bump spot was a 3.924 secs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
