{"id":5928,"date":"2024-04-08T06:35:00","date_gmt":"2024-04-08T06:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=5928"},"modified":"2024-04-09T22:20:40","modified_gmt":"2024-04-09T22:20:40","slug":"living-legend-ends-drought","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=5928","title":{"rendered":"\u201cLiving Legend\u201d Ends Drought"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Funny Car legend John Force picked up his first victory in two years, powering past Matt Hagan of Tony Stewart Racing to win the p Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals, which was postponed by rain and then completed on Saturday in front of a sellout crowd at Firebird Motorsports Park in Phoenix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Force, the winningest driver in NHRA history, went 4.033-seconds at 318.24 mph in his PEAK Antifreeze &amp; Coolant Chevrolet Camaro SS, slipping past Hagan\u2019s 4.048 to claim his 156th career victory and first since April of 2022. Force now has eight Winternationals wins to his credit and this marked another special one in his iconic career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/FC-JohnForce-1000x667-1-e1712643736287.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/FC-JohnForce-1000x667-1-e1712643736287.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5923\"\/><\/a><figcaption>Wiley <strong>John Force<\/strong> collected career win #156 for the rain delayed Lucas Oil Winternationals event &#8211; which was concluded at Phoenix.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m just facing the truth in life, that, you know, time&#8217;s running out, and I&#8217;m trying to hang on,\u201d Force said. \u201cThis morning, I was talking about, \u2018You know, maybe this is it, maybe I should just walk out the gate and go to the casino,\u2019 and then all sudden you win and your weight and your personality just changes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was mad, mad at myself [for losing in the Mission Challenge earlier in the day], and I started saying, &#8216;You just need to get out of the seat, you&#8217;re just too old for this stuff&#8217;
