NHRA\u2019s dynamic chase for the 2023 Camping World Series World Championship for Funny Car racing is all set for drama at the season ending In-N-Out Drag Strip at Pomona next weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With three Funny Car stars grouped within only 17 points – the class is poised for a down to the wire spectacular conclusion at the In-N-Out NHRA Finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top three contenders \u2013 points leader Matt Hagan, Bob Tasca III and Robert Hight \u2013 are separated less than a round at the points-and-a-half finale. It truly doesn\u2019t get much closer, as the last man standing will clinch the 2023 Funny Car world championship, a thrilling summation of what\u2019s been one of the closest title races in recent class history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always been a dogfight,\u201d Hagan said. \u201cWe know we have to go out and win, but they\u2019re heavy hitters. I feel we\u2019re all sitting here thinking we have to go win the race. That\u2019s my feeling and my thought process. It\u2019s not about points anymore, it\u2019s just about winning this race. I\u2019m just excited to be in the mix of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Added Tasca: \u201cWe\u2019re within a round and if we all run to our potential, there\u2019s a good chance two of the three of us could be in the final round, where all the chips would be on one race. That would be an epic ending to the season. I can\u2019t wait to get there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Said Hight: \u201cIt\u2019s a big deal and it could come down to the final round to crown a championship. There\u2019s no more excitement than that. There\u2019s going to be lot of sleepless nights between now and Sunday, I\u2019m sure, but I\u2019m just glad to be a part of that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series qualifying will feature two rounds at 12 and 3 p.m. PT on Friday, and the final two rounds of qualifying on Saturday at 12 and 3 p.m. Final eliminations are scheduled for 11 a.m. PT on Sunday. Television coverage begins with qualifying action on FS1 at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, leading into eliminations at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
