{"id":4740,"date":"2021-06-18T13:44:08","date_gmt":"2021-06-18T13:44:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=4740"},"modified":"2021-06-18T13:46:46","modified_gmt":"2021-06-18T13:46:46","slug":"marquee-team-finale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=4740","title":{"rendered":"Marquee Team Finale"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For the seventh time in their careers, John Force and Robert Hight met in the final round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Force and the PEAK \/ BlueDEF PLATINUM Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car are now 4-3 against Hight and the AAA New England Camaro as they picked up their second win of the season, 153rd of Force\u2019s career at the TascaParts.com NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the third consecutive race, John Force Racing has won the Funny Car category and for the fifth time in six races, John Force Racing has had at least one Funny Car in the final round. It is the 51st final round between John Force Racing drivers but the first since 2018 when Courtney Force beat John in Richmond, VA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/NFFC-NE-JF.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"258\" src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/NFFC-NE-JF.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4736\"\/><\/a><figcaption>(John Force&#8217;s 153rd career win &#8211; has put him into the NHRA championship points lead for 2021)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>John Force and the PEAK \/ BlueDEF Chevy Camaro team got their race day started with a 4.279-second pass at 211.03 mph to defeat Cory Lee\u2019s 6.092. It was 2018 Funny Car Champion J.R. Todd who fell to Force and the PEAK team in the second round. Force ran a 3.957-second pass at 329.18 mph to defeat Todd\u2019s 4.006 at 319.98. Terry Haddock came off a bye to run against Force in the semifinals. Force had a solid 3.975-second pass at 324.83 mph that handed Haddock and his 4.199 at 296.96 the loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lined up against team president and three-time world champion Robert Hight in the final round, Force would maintain his consistency running 3.972-seconds at 327.51 mph to defeat the AAA New England Chevy\u2019s 3.993 at 323.35 marking Force\u2019s 26th season where he has won two or more NHRA national events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/NFFC-NE-Hight.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/NFFC-NE-Hight.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4735\"\/><\/a><figcaption>(Robert Hight was FC runner-up)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis win represents team effort. You have to look at both of these cars and Brittany\u2019s dragster, they all have PEAK on them and AAA and Monster, Flav-R-Pac, Chevy and all the people that take care of me, that\u2019s what it\u2019s all about,\u201d said Force, who is now second in points, only 15 out of first. &#8220;Robert helps me so much trying to help me back in the driver\u2019s seat where I don\u2019t suck so bad and, right now, I\u2019ve got a car and I won today, and I did my job. I want to thank all the people in Epping for coming back and I want to thank Daniel Hood for a great tune-up, and Tim Fabrisi for fixing the cockpit in my car.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entering the day in the No. 10 qualifying spot, it was a pedalfest for Robert Hight and the AAA New England Chevy boys as they picked up the first-round victory over Alexis DeJoria. Hight handled the AAA hot rod to a 4.336-second pass at 287.78 mph defeating DeJoria\u2019s 4.717. In the second round, Hight matched up with longtime rival and New England favorite Bob Tasca III. Tasca lost traction at the start for Hight to drive away with a 3.972-second run at 324.36 mph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Veteran racer Tim Wilkerson lined up with Hight in the semifinals. It was over before it even started with Wilkerson going .090 red, handing Hight the win. The AAA Chevy would go 4.022-seconds at 322.27 mph landing Hight in the 83rd final round of his career, third of the season. Hight would come up short with his 3.993-second pass at 323.35 mph to Force\u2019s 3.972 at 327.51.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cReally wanted this one for AAA New England. We all really wanted it. This crew, Jimmy Prock and Chris Cunningham, they worked hard. We went some rounds and got better but not the result we wanted,&#8221; said Hight who is fourth in points. &#8220;You always want to be the ones winning but I\u2019m glad it stayed in the John Force Racing family. John\u2019s been working hard too; all of our teams have been and we\u2019re dominating and that\u2019s ultimately what you want.
