{"id":437,"date":"2012-10-30T18:08:22","date_gmt":"2012-10-30T18:08:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=437"},"modified":"2012-10-30T18:12:08","modified_gmt":"2012-10-30T18:12:08","slug":"rolling-the-dice-at-las-vegas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=437","title":{"rendered":"Rolling the Dice at Las Vegas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Rolling the Dice at Las Vegas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Todd Lesenko and the Jim Dunn Racing team entered NHRA&#8217;s Big O Tires Las Vegas Nationals as a very optimistic group.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They came into the 2nd to last event for\u00a0the 2012 NHRA Full Throttle season campaign\u00a0hot off what was arguebly their strongest showing of the season during\u00a0the previous event held at Reading PA&#8230;.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>But the &#8220;gods of drag racing&#8221; would seemingly frown on\u00a0that momentum.\u00a0 At Las Vegas\u00a0the team&#8217;s best run of 4.476 secs fell well short of the 16-car bump spot of\u00a04.136 secs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/LV-Sat-2-TL.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-439\" title=\"LV-Sat-2-TL\" src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/LV-Sat-2-TL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"328\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We knew the field at Las Vegas would be a swift.\u00a0\u00a0So we tried to tune the car to run at least 4.12 secs to make the field,&#8221; Todd revealed.\u00a0 &#8220;Unfortunately with trying to meet that objective we had some issues with the car again.\u00a0\u00a0 Fate was not with us this time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Todd did experience a flash fire during the team&#8217;s final qualifying attempt on Saturday afternoon &#8212;
