a marquee part for the 62nd edition Good Vibrations March Meet &#8211; held at Bakersfield CA.<\/p>\n<p>Racing his \u201970 Camaro bodied car \u2014 Bynum (from Ypsilanti) took the measure of an upset-minded Matt Melendez in the final round \u2014 winning the title by a 5.617 secs 250.13 mph to 5.749 secs 224.73 mph margin.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Melendez had advanced his California-based \u201970 Dodge Challenger machine to the final from the #16 qualified position.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4236\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?attachment_id=4236\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4236\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4236\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4236\" src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/NFFC-Bynum.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"319\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4236\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">( Michigan&#8217;s <strong>Matt Bynum<\/strong> &#8211; made the very best of his second career Bakersfield FC final round &#8212; \u00a0he earned his first FC win at the storied Auto Club Famoso Raceway last Sunday)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Bynum was the class of the field during eliminations, posting the quickest winning run in all four rounds while also topping James Day, Jerry Espeseth and Canada\u2019s Ryan Hodgson.<\/p>\n<p>After qualifying #3 at 5.575\/261.98, Bynum never ran slower than a 5.621 and averaged 5.602 for all four rounds of eliminations.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The 2020 version March Meet Funny Car eliminator saw 23 entries make qualifying runs &#8212; with that field being paced by Dan Horan Jr.&#8217;s track record-setting 5.547 secs 264.49 mph. \u00a0That run was low ET and top speed of the meet for Horan&#8217;s (&#8217;69 Camaro bodied car) \u00a0and it marked a solid comeback for his team\u00a0who had that memorable trip into the top end catch net during NHRA\u2019s Lucas Oil Winternationals a month earlier.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4238\" style=\"width: 509px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?attachment_id=4238\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4238\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4238\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4238\" src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/NFFC-Horan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"499\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4238\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(<strong>Dan Horan Jr<\/strong>., set a track ET record to pace the field &#8212;
