{"id":181,"date":"2012-07-02T16:00:05","date_gmt":"2012-07-02T16:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=181"},"modified":"2012-07-03T15:04:24","modified_gmt":"2012-07-03T15:04:24","slug":"a-wild-ride-in-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=181","title":{"rendered":"A Wild Ride in Chicago&#8230;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A Wild Ride in Chicago&#8230;&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The debut of the new Grime Boss-themed Dodge Stratus did not go exactly according to plan &#8212; but it sure got noticed!<!--more--><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Following a really nice public unveiling on the starting line \u00a0just before the 1st qualifying session on Friday that included Grime Boss&#8217;s VP Keith McQuaid &#8212; the team entered Saturday&#8217;s qualifying rounds on the provisional list.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Chicago-Keith1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-186\" title=\"Chicago-Keith\" src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Chicago-Keith1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"344\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The third qualifier was a real\u00a0&#8220;doozy&#8221; as they say.\u00a0\u00a0 The car left very hard and was on a very fast lap to half\u00a0track\u00a0 &#8212; with the overall best incremental times of the meet at that point.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new Dodge Stratus body created some terrific\u00a0downforce which helped to load the motor and increase the overall horsepower being applied to the ground.\u00a0\u00a0 Then amazingly the car went into a very wild powerstand.\u00a0 The computer data showed the car&#8217;s front wheels went skyward\u00a0at an estimated 240 mph and did not come back down until the car was running 275 mph!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Chicago-Todd1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-182\" title=\"Chicago-Todd1\" src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Chicago-Todd1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"507\" height=\"295\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The problem was that because and when Todd was forced to back off the throttle to bring the car back to earth &#8212; it slammed down hard and it actually broke the chassis!\u00a0\u00a0 That\u00a0forced the team to miss the 4th and final qualifying round on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0car chassis has been shipped off to Indianapolis for\u00a0necessary repairs.\u00a0\u00a0 It will likely receive a new front half &#8212; but will be\u00a0ready for sure in time\u00a0for NHRA&#8217;s race at Norwalk next week&#8230;&#8230;(BB)<\/p>\n<p><em>Bruce Biegler Photos<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Wild Ride in Chicago&#8230;&#8230; The debut of the new Grime Boss-themed Dodge Stratus did not go exactly according to plan &#8212; but it sure got noticed!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[4],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/181"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=181"}],"version-history":[{"count":7,"href":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/181\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":184,"href":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/181\/revisions\/184"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=181"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=181"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=181"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
