{"id":1584,"date":"2015-07-22T21:25:51","date_gmt":"2015-07-22T21:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=1584"},"modified":"2015-07-22T21:28:14","modified_gmt":"2015-07-22T21:28:14","slug":"rocky-mountain-funny-car-roundup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/?p=1584","title":{"rendered":"Rocky Mountain Funny Car Roundup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0IHRA&#8217;s\u00a0Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by Good Vibrations attracted a good field of Nostalgia-bodied Funny Cars last weekend at Edmonton Alberta &#8212; and in the end a familiar face stood tall.<\/p>\n<p>Rupert, the IHRA&#8217;s defending World Champ, went up against points leader Mike McIntire Jr. in the final round for the AMSOIL Funny Car division and landed in the winner&#8217;s circle with a holeshot win.<\/p>\n<p>Rupert posted a .049 reaction time, 5.704 seconds at 253.38 mph against McIntire&#8217;s .089, 5.698 second at 255.39 mph in the final round battle of Chevy Camaro-bodied cars.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1579\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/NFFC-Edm-FCFinal.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1579\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1579\" src=\"https:\/\/nitrofccanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/NFFC-Edm-FCFinal.jpg\" alt=\"(The FC final round went to Jason Rupert - on a holeshot - over points leader Mike McIntyre)\" width=\"500\" height=\"276\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1579\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(The FC final round went to Jason Rupert &#8211; on a holeshot &#8211; over points leader Mike McIntyre)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This marked only the second time Rupert had gone up against McIntire in the finals this year. Their first encounter was at the season-opener in Tucson when Rupert fouled at the line and McIntire took the win.
